"SHOW ME THE MONEY!!"

Famous words from Tom Cruise, but really what half of Christchurch is waiting to say to their insurance companies. In the end your house all comes down to the dollars and cents that some "expert" thinks it is worth, on behalf of some overseas faceless insurance company. It is a scary place to be powerless on the end of a process which you feel you have little control over. There will no doubt be some winners and some losers, we are not sure "which side of the coin" we will fall on. Over time, when your house ends up a pile of rubble, the romantic attachment to it eventually declines. To move forward you need to have some idea of the amount of cash you will be taking with you to determine which sort of future you are likely to create.

I have left this deliberately black and fuzzy as this is how we feel about the future value of our house. Depressed and very fuzzy so far. Clarity and light are not how this situation is shaping up. The coin is actually golden and was gleaming on a book which is why I orignially thought to photograph it. In the end, the mood needed to show through...

Must say, old photographic friend, as in a long time ago, at University times, he now confirmed dead in the CCTV building today, same age as me, 46. These things are more depressing than the value of your house thats for sure.
