Me, Myself and Catherine

Lambing time

Sheep become a far more prominent feature of many peoples' lives around here at this time of year. Most of the year white woolly dots on the hillside, but now, the air is filled with the buzz of quad bikes with farmers feeding, checking, moving, lambing. Ewes calling to their lambs and shouting as they hear the sound of their next feed being delivered. The practice has a constant stream of Land Rovers delivering ewes to caesar. Some farmers are reaching the end. Others have it all to come - half wishing it would hurry up and get over with, half wanting it not to start. I couldn't help looking at these girls wondering how many might pass through our doors in the coming weeks.
