RED AND YELLOW

I have taken pot shots at these two houses for months but they never seemed interesting enough. Today am feeling dull and uninspired, to say nothing of as stiff as a wee boardie from all the walking and carrying I did yesterday. The first warm day is hard on a person who is unfit from winter sloth. (The second day is not so hot, either.)

These two houses are occupied by the owners of a winery lower down the hill. Some of the vineyards can be seen. In the distance is a little settlement where there are two houses which are let to tourists. One is perfectly dreadful and the other is small but cute. The large building is an old monastery which has been turned into apartments. One is for rent to tourists at phenomenal amounts, the other two are occupied by local people who, by and large, live an old style rural life as do those in the other houses. Tourism has edged into agriculture.

We live over the hill and that's how I'm feeling just now. Cheerful in the warmth and sun, but unenthusiastic about more physical shenanigans today.

For the record: + 17 C. Sunny. Humidity 62%.
