Midnight Blue

Fire is so captivating.

This was a farmer burning what was left of the old crops in preparation for the new. You can just see him to the left of the picture, illuminated as he tends to the flames.

It was a mesmerising scene; wish I could have really captured the essence of it.

The scene reminded me of the opening chapter of one of my favourite books, Midnight Blue by Pauline Fisk, which I first read in my early teens.

Such an enchanting story.
