WaWa Roots

Roots of the WaWa Tree

Outside our University Museum is a collection of tree roots. Most are from West Ghana, and include trees with fine names such as Denya, Mahogany, Anokya Hyedna and Celtis Esa, as well as this WaWa.

Some of the other tree roots can be seen in this gallery.

The exhibition focuses on the sustainability of African timber production, but these trees are described as "naturally fallen as a result of adverse weather".

Some adverse weather to get this lot down!
