Game Day

Game Day. 9am. Heavy clouds with the chance of rain.......but it didn't matter. It was GAME DAY!

Our son has been looking forward to his first game pretty much all year. This whole experience has been very exciting for him. And as his parents, we were beyond proud of the positive and gleaming smile that he wore throughout the entire game.

Here are some of the highlights:

- His first swing at the tee is a miss (just warming up) but his second is a solid hit.
- He waits and watches the ball after that hit, totally forgetting to run.
- But no worries, he makes it first base...SAFE!
- Huge smile to us and the crowd.

- In the ready stance, ready for anything.
- Two minutes later, twirling around looking at the sky.
- Refocused (thanks to the base coach, his Daddy)

- Hanging out with his buddies in the dugout
- Goofing off in the dugout.
- Mitts over their faces and laughing at one another, in the dugout
- Refocused (thanks to Coach)

- Jumping up and down doing his victory cheer at the end of the game.
- Huge smile as he is high fiving the other team.
- The team rush to the snack box.......t ball momentarily forgotten.

Five year olds. Five year olds playing t ball and this is exactly what we had hoped for. Some focus and seriousness for the sport but also a chance to just play, laugh, act silly and just be kids. The balance was there. The Coach provides such a positive environment for the kids to learn and grow. And the parents / families / friends on the sidelines all have camera's in hand capturing the first of many many MANY games.
