To See New Englandly

Thursday 7 April 2011: Green Thumbin' It

Having not had much luck growing vegetables in our own yard (lousy soil and too much shade), we've applied for an allotment at the community gardens this year. Today, we stopped at a nursery center to select our seeds: beans, peas, carrots, radishes, cantaloupe, cucumbers, pumpkins, two kinds of tomatoes, and various flowers.

I think I'm going to try to turn our former vegetable patch (the one that yielded only one tomato two years ago after I planted 42 plants I'd grown from seed) to a wild butterfly garden. The kind I don't have to tend other than to water it.
