Stretch Book

One of those out-of-the-blue jolly nice days at work today, after the shock of the return yesterday.

We were visited by a very talented book illustrator this afternoon, Pam Smy, who came along to speak to our students about her own creative process. She gave a very open and honest talk on the publishing industry and brought along loads of her own sketchbooks (including these fascinating concertina jobs shown here in which she researches and develops here ideas in) that gave a fascinating insight into her own working methods. Lots of enthusiasm from the students and a good dose of inspiration at just the right time, it was just a pity she couldn't hang around longer as there were loads of questions wanting to be asked.

Hopefully the mad dash for the train to Peterborough was successful and thanks for a very interesting afternoon indeed.
