International Space Station.

Last night I headed out to the top of the hill at the last minute, plonked down the camera and fired off a couple of shots as the space station swung by 700 miles or so south of us, and they came out not too shabby. Tonight I dragged my faithful camera assistant along, keeping him out his bed on a school night, to see the event for himself. He was quite impressed but the shot wasn't quite as good, the extra darkness and slightly hazy horizon made it seem less bright. Good practice though, setting up in the pitch black and trying not to fall into the nasty sharp gorse bushes, and scanning the sky waiting for the pinpoint of light to show over the twinkling lights of Stirling.

Tomorrow's is to be a bit higher in the sky and will be illuminated by the sun for a bit longer so may have another go then.
