Monday 2 May 2011: Heli-fun
It was a perfectly perfect morning for an early walk, with the usual assortment of sand dollars, mussel shells and beach pebbles, the occasional seagull, and a flock of seabirds with long curving beaks. And this bright gadget floating above it all. They call 'em on-board video cams, made for wearing on your head during extreme sports, but this guy had rigged his to a remote controlled plane and was filming the beach to send to friends back home. The camera is smaller than my point and shoot, and was definitely having more fun. The moral of the story is: get out more often, and always have a camera in your pocket.
