Monday 9 May 2011: Make tea...
I have started some new work, with a potter. He insists that he is not a ceramic artist, he makes pots, and pots that you can use, none of this arty-farty intellectual stuff. We are going to make stuff together, all a bit scary really.
I paint, if I doesn't work you cover it up with another layer, this can be repeated any number of times. There is no inside, underneath or around. It is 2D, perhaps with a bit of bas relief. But that is it.
Clay is different. Learn to lose is my new mantra.
