Saturday 8 March 2008: Woolly
A wild and woolly day.
I drove into Edinburgh in an amazing rainstorm. As I passed the Mossmorran natural gas plant the wind was so strong that the steam/smoke from all the stacks was being swept away on a pure horizontal.
Unfortunately I couldn't stop then for a photo, so came back later. The light was better, but the smoke not quite so spectacular.
I fancy shooting this place at night sometime, especially when the tallest stack is flaring.
Beside this site is the Fife Ethylene Plant. I am sure I used to know what ethylene was (when I did my chemistry A-Level), but that appears to be one of those unused bits of knowledge which has slipped away from me.
