Sunday 9 March 2008: Big day for Mrs B
The day did not start well. Up early, drove to stables, Teaser refused to get in box, got a bit lost on way to the show, arrived just in time, all very stressed.
Things didn't improve much in the warm up round. Mrs B momentarily forgot the test, had to correct, dropped marks, frustration, recriminations, almost tears.
And then the (metaphorical) sun came out. In the championship test for the Saltire Series (for which they qualified about 6 months ago) Teaser and Mrs B went beautifully, not a hoof wrong.
So - Mrs B and Teasers first ever win, and because it was a championship, a shiny silver trophy as well as that bright red rosette.
So we drove home very chuffed.
The above was probably the best picture of the day from a photographic perspective, but Mrs B claims that is shows lots of technical dressage faults. Too late to reshoot it now...
