Field Mouse

Oh, the wind is a bit of a louse,
For the nuts, at the side of our house,
Have been blown out of reach
Of this, sweet-as-a-peach,
Little regular visitor - Mouse.

poem © Celia Warren 2011

Photographed from quite a distance behind the kitchen window.

EDIT to add: Just realised, looking at this, how much the dry weather has affected the ferns growing in the wall crevices. They are really curled up and pale, poor things. It keeps clouding over, but it's not rained yet!
