Eight

This is the cob that lost his pen last year, but still managed to find another mate and bring four cygnets up.
The nest was under the Bernard Street bridge last year, but there is now a floating plank that prevents a build-up of garbage in that corner, so the pair have had to go elsewhere.
Perhaps they're missing the old nest, so they've decided to embellish the new one with a bit of litter...
There are eight beautiful eggs, this Spring.
Cygnus olor; a stunning bird, but dreadful taste in beer....
