Home James, And Don't Spare the Horses.

And so all packed up, bikes loaded on to the car and cottage tidied, we headed for home.

There was a tentative rainbow to the west as we left, which we hoped augured well for the journey even though the forecast was one of unremitting rain.

But the heavy black threatening clouds held their rain and we reached our first stop at The House of Bruar with dry bikes.

A quick coffee and we took our cameras up the path to the Falls of Bruar although with time at a premium, we only got as far as the lower falls. Another time and we'll go further.

A crawl behind a long line of cars going south at 40mph

The next stop, Perthshire Visitor Centre at Bankfoot, which his Lordship maintains serves the best macaroni and cheese in the whole of Scotland and probably the universe.

Thus fortified, we headed for Perth and a visit to our friend Jim, whose wife died so tragically in Cuba this year.
He was in good spirits, but it was an emotional time for us to be together, without Jean. She was such a presence that we will never stop missing her.

Home and still dry to find the patio tubs in the same state.
I hope the plants regain their joie de vivre.

Despite all the photos of the Falls of Bruar, my Blipadviser has voted for this blip of the bottles on a shelf at the House of Bruar.
