The wind and rain is back. I had to zoom into Bantry and came home on the north side of the peninsula to look at the sea. There were some spectacular waves and I got up close and rather personal - yes, wet feet and just as I was in the thick of it the heavens opened and I got soaked hurtling back to my car. I'm not sure what the hoop things are - there must have been a small submerged quay.

A useful afternoon booking flights. You have to be so on the ball not to succumb to all the hidden extras. We are off to the UK in July for a couple of family gatherings and in September we are treating ourselves to a performance of MacBeth in the new theatre in Stratford upon Avon and catching up with some friends. Funny how, even though the fare appears to be 0 euros you end up paying 70.

PS Biutiful - a very strange and melancholy movie, doesn't have much to recommend it re the human spirit but Javier Badem is excellent. We also saw Hanna a few days ago - an action thriller but the director has managed to do something different and Saoirse Ronan is astonishingly good -a wonderful, strong role for a teenage girl as she gets to throw Eric Bana all over the place with gusto!
