Looking in again

A rare visit to the old town in Pézenas, the tourist area with the craft shops and cafés just waking up for the summer season. This is a bead shop - if it looks like an Aladdin's cave, it is. There are more beads of different colours and shapes than I've ever seen in one place anywhere else. I've made myself several necklaces and pairs of earrings with beads from here, and made them as presents for others too, but today I just looked in.

After window shopping and watching the tourists (with some amusement, I'm afraid, as they wondered what to do on a morning when the sun wasn't shining), we were hungry so we went to a café just outside the old town which does a very good 11.50 euro menu du jour - Provençal salad, lamb with haricot beans, lemon tart and a glass of wine, all the food tasting like very good home cooking, so it's one of our favourite places to eat.

Another one for this week's 2011 Challenge - looking in
