Fiori di Como

di Chihuly.

I am in love with the Bellagio. It was the first hotel/casino I stayed in when I turned 21. We stayed for a week in one of the VIP suites overlooking the fountains and the strip. It was such an awesome week. So to come back here and just enjoy walking around the Bellagio was wonderful and brought back some lovely memories of winning money and sleeping little to none at all the entire week. We ate at Picasso, Le Cirque, saw Cirque du Soleil's O show, Blue Man Group.. and most likely a magician. Not to mention the fact that we would get up at 6am to go gamble without the crowds. (I already want to go back.)
I seriously love this town. I just walked around with a huge smile on my face because my eyes were being overstimulated. I love lights, elegance, architecture, colors, displays.. it was all wonderful. I can't even get over how much the city has changed since I was here last in 2007. More buildings have been demolished. More casinos have been erected: Aria, CityCenter, Vdara, The Cosmopolitan.. I don't understand fully where the land came from to build between the Bellagio and New York, New York.

I love how everything looks so close to each other.. but then you're walking there and you realize that it all looks so close because everything is ginormously larger than life. There is so much money lost in this city.. to the casinos.. it's unreal.
The shows, the food, the dancers, walking around the city with a beer in your hand, the scale. I could definitely see myself having a bachelorette party in Las Vegas -- so... well done, B!

We went to see the Vegas Show at Planet Hollywood tonight. One of the performances was a set of tap-dancing twins. Just like yesterday as I was remembering how much I love the sound of typewriters.. I also love the sound of tap dancing shoes. Once again.. it reminds me of my childhood. I remember my grandmother took tap dancing and I used to click her shoes on the tile floors so I could hear the satisfying tap-tap-taps.

Runners Up:
Parasols
Summer in the Conservatory
Look UP
Caesars Palace*

*I read somewhere in the casino that Jay Sarno (the owner) named it "Caesars Palace" instead of "Caesar's Palace" because he considered every guest to be a Caesar. I like that. Especially since he cleared up the grammatical error situation for me.
