Wolves

Today we picked up Granddaughter Tatum from school and stopped at the Burke Museum (of Natural History and Culture) to see the new Wolves and Wild Lands in the 21st Century exhibit. She is studying arctic animals in her 2nd grade class so this Arctic Wolf was her favorite. It was such a beautiful installation of 5 different wolves from Alaska to the southwestern US (+ 1 coyote), great lighting and and constant howling. it looked at wolf and human coexistence in different regions of the US. Wolves were eliminated in Washington State in the 30s but are returning naturally. The consistent theme is how humans determine the future of this important predator at the top of the food chain. Behind the Arctic Wolf is the Mexican Grey Wolf and a Great Plains Wolf (I think...)

Of course one of the attractions of the Burke is our favorite cafe for chocolate milk and a cinnamon roll or brownie!
