Hey Ho, another day another backblip!

Went Karting on Saturday for part of my godson's birthday weekend celebrations in Manchester, although it seemed the Go-Karting place was nearly in Wigan judging by the distance we ended up travelling!

It was a little run down indoor track in a converted mill with attendents in brightly coloured overalls who wouldn't have looked out of place in one of those inbred mutant hillbilly slasher movies..

But it was actually pretty cool, soon enough we too had brightly coloured overalls on and began to resemble a slipknot convention weekend, and then they more or less stuck us in the cars and away we went, at a much faster rate of knots than i would have..anticipated...expected..desired...wanted!

After a few laps i understood why i had the dark coveralls on, the nice man said the smell was from me pressing the brake and the accelerator at the same time............

I knew different but kept it to myself!

However, lot of fun, the children enjoyed it once we'd sorted out their engine speeds and plucked them out of crash barriers, tended their hurts etc.

There was even a little podium for the winners and medals etc, just like the real thing.....

sadly the Richardsons didn't make the winners rostrum although i'm sure i touched 200 mph on a straight bit....

bloody felt like it anyhow!
