The businesses might still be open as usual but the guys at the corner shop are reporting a definite downturn in trade (though they phrase it slightly more colourfully than that!). One thing is certain, as soon as the gas board fill in their holes the water board will turn up with a lorry load of pneumatic drills looking for some street action..........it's the same every summer......
