Sunday 19 June 2011: Swallowtail

About this time every year I spend ten minutes or so taking a ridiculous number of photos of swallowtail butterflies on our lavender flowers. Today was the day. I couldn't get very close or it would fly away so this is much cropped and, I think, one of the best I took because you can clearly see the 'swallow' tail.

Last year's is here and 2009's here

Also managed to have a very good lunch of barbecued lamb chops (from the Aveyron farm that supplies one of the wine producers in the village), peppers and aubergine from the garden.

The play last night was very good - funny and very well acted - and the muscat wine was excellent, as was the chance to chat with friends after the performance.
