Hello Again, Goodbye.

Strange kind of day, all things considered.

Our rooms are all packed and labelled, our desk contents are squashed away into plastic tea-crates and we're a day away from closing the doors for the last time on our old college building.

We had this 'farewell event' organised today in the café here at which a few old familiar faces turned out for a bucks fizz, a sausage roll and a reminisce, and there were speeches that encouraged us to take all our happy memories along with us to the new build. Great in theory, but maybe not quite so easy for those sitting in the room that weren't going to be coming along with us for one reason or another, either through choice or being surplus to future requirements.

No doubt it's going to be sad saying farewell to the bricks and mortar tomorrow, but not anywhere near as wretched as it will be watching some good colleagues hang their room keys up for the last time.
