Umbellifer lace

Not as hot and sticky today. Managed a walk around the lanes but got a bit worried as the thunder began to roll around. I almost got back before the rain started ......

As it was dull and overcast, there were not too many flying insects around. Hundreds of ladybird pupae in the nettles and a few bees and hoverflies.

I like the shapes that the umbellifer flowers make against the grey sky.

Went to a History Wardrobe presentation on the Titanic tonight at our local library with mother in law. Beautiful dresses and a glimpse of the corsets and underwear that the first class ladies would have worn. The latest fashion corsets went from bust to mid-thigh and they would not have been able to bend. As some of them dressed up to go on deck after the iceberg collision, it is no wonder that they had difficulties manouvering themselves into the lifeboats.
