Old School

Weef and I went to The Royal College of Art Summer Show today and saw work which was ranged from the dull of the plain pointless.

Walking through yet another gallery of multimedia navel gazing our eyes set upon a collection of type trays through an open studio door. Smelling printers ink we went into what was an old fashioned print workshop with old presses of every description.

Knowing we shouldn't be in there and hearing someone in the back room I went through to ask him if it was OK to take a look.

The man in question was Ian Gabb and it turned out the three of us had a fair few typographers in common. Sadly he told us that few students were interested in traditional printing methods any more preferring to push a button instead.
