Sunday 3 July 2011: Long ago...

This lovely couple is part of a roleplaying demonstration depicting life in 1876, 100 years after the Declaration of Independence was signed. They are collecting flowers for the sailors who will dock in the seaport.

The sailors liked to have a peace of 'land' with them when they went back out to sea on the whaling ships to remind them of home.

Inside of this building is a reading room, filled with books from so long ago.
