Thursday 30 June 2011: White-faced Heron
Took our canine for a walk around the local inlet today and the bird life was plentiful for this time of the season. Paradise Ducks, ubiquitous sea gulls, black backed gulls, variable oyster-catchers, ducks and this white-faced heron busy fishing for it's lunch. Not a very sharp image but the rings of movement from swishing the water to disturb fingerlings adds a nice contrast to the cold blue water Heron is dining in.
