waves of light....

What a superb day!!! Finally a sunny and real summer day! Spent the morning dealing with cups and bowls in the studio....needing trimming and handles put on etc....then off we went for an afternoons adventure! First stop - Gas station and Tim Hortons.....two of the essentials for an afternoon of exploration....gas and coffee!!!

When we got to the ferry at Englishtown, we had to wait 20 minutes before we were transported across the channel....this is summer time on Cape Breton Island...the tourists are here! And i for one love that they have arrived! Our economy relies heavily on tourism so i never complain or grip that there are delays here and there...and longer line ups at the Co-op....without them i'd be a starving potter with loads of mugs, teapots, bowls etc sitting on my shelves. I hear other folks complain but really, talk about biting the hand that feeds you!!! it was sunny and the scenery is to die for, so what is the big rush!!

Terry had the idea to go dig for clams on the mud flats, close to where we got off the ferry! I wasn't too interested in digging around in the mud so i just totally enjoyed myself photographing the water and the light as it bounced off here and there! What a display of sparkling diamonds!!!!

Then onto Little River beach, the other side from a few weeks ago....the surf was wild and energetic...and i sat looking out over the ocean, drinking a beer and reading my book! Now, after dinner, i'm totally satisfied with my day and i'm off to read some more of my book!
