Off work today as we get a public holiday to honour NZ's (and Australia's) fallen soldiers on ANZAC Day.

My day started at 6:45am watching Rangers grind out another steady but very unspectacular 0-0 draw with the Italian team Fiorentina in the UEFA Cup Semi-Final - the 2nd leg will be a nervy affair which I'll be watching in a bar in town as it's a school day. C'om the 'gers - you can still do the business!

We baby sat for our friends whose wee girl Ella is about 10 weeks older than Ailsa. There were a few happy photos but this was the best - they just set each other off and competed hard on bawling their eyes out. I think Ella won! Ours is on the left, by the way....

Then we went for a stroll on the pebbly beach past Eastbourne in the late afternoon sun - lovely! And still the weekend to come - woo hoo!
