Had to visit Belfast for work. I was fortunate to be there during a march through the city in the evening.
Although it was a constant media backdrop to my childhood I don't pretend to understand the Northern Ireland question. And although the 'troubles' are over I get the distinct impression that the political and religious fire is not fully extinguished but is smouldering away, fueled by pride and tradition and that sense of identity that everyone craves.
