Taught my first college composition class this evening. And took my first phone-camera Blip this evening.

I could go on and on about why this community college environment is such a great fit for me as an instructor (hint: it is all about the students) but I have been at it for fourteen hours thus far and, in some ways, I want to keep this newfound and amazing joy all to myself. I shared one tidbit on FB and talked to Leah when I got home, sure, but so much of tonight was just about me and them. And, for now anyways, these first incredible moments are going to stay just that way: in the community I built tonight, I built with them.
