The Venue PART ONE

A tiny gathering of the wedding party to make final preparations before the rehearsal. We had the privilege of rolling up our sleeves and pitching in a bit, as the grooms mom had ridden with us.

The bride and groom delighted in the notion of this lovely farm and a sweet little garden party and, as all couples, had dreampt their dreams and made their plans. However, as in true 'make-a-memory' fashion, the rustic little farm was a wee bit too rustic and the stove wasn't working and the sink had a bucket instead of plumbing under it. Well, that's farm life, isn't it? Yes it is, but even the roasting oven provided wouldn't solve this dilemma, so at 9pm, we cousins and the mothers of the bride and groom scooped up all the supplies and off we went to a rented hotel room, complete with kitchenette, to spend several hours bonding and laughing and staring at the floor during moments of exhaustion. Lots of yawns and a few, "I can't believe this is happening"s.

I have to say, I was very fond of the chickens and that the hotel room at the historic Olypic Hotel had charmed me. I was among the most fabulous people on the planet and, aside from the fact that I couldn't blip, it was a perfect day!
