Govetts Leap

After a leisurely start we headed off to see the Blue Mountains. I had been here once before and admit I had mocked the Blue Mountains, I mean seriously. They aren't mountains ...

However, today I must admit that I was awed by the place. They are indeed very large "Grand Canyon?esque" valleys.

We started at Govetts Leap, looking over the Grose Valley as pictured here. The valley floor lies 400 metres below, and on an off chance we walked down there and back, to see Bridal Veil falls from below. An absolutely awesome walk down a cliff face track. Very well worth it if you make it here.

Then it was into Katoomba to have a look at the three sisters and Echo Point, which is the most popular viewpoint. We found it disappointing sadly. Very commercialised and tourist focussed, and while much larger, simply not as impressive as what we had seen and experienced earlier.

Then back to camp for another camp fire and BBQ. Magic.
