Silver and Gold

After yesterday's moon shot I knew I'd have to go elsewhere to avoid the trees if the opportunity presented again this morning.  I was out at 5 am, the sky was clear, and there was a layer of frozen snow covering everything, including my car!  Nevertheless I was away in good time, and drove to a spot where I knew there would be a clear view.

I wasted a lot of shots trying to get the settings right.  The colour is due to the rising sun, which touched the peaks of nearby Mount Torlesse about five minutes later.

My feet have been cold all day after I'd forgotten to take my waterproof boots.  I had to clamber to a vantage point through long grass, coated with icy snow, wearing crocs.
