Saturday: Switch On your Happiness (1/20)

A few days I mentioned that K. and I were working on a list of 20 things to do before we leave London. Today we did no. 1/20.

We headed over to Brick Lane in the heart of the east end of London. It is now known for being the heart of the Bangladeshi community, but it also has very historical associations, not least around Jack The Ripper, whose stomping ground this was.

Brick Lane is very eclectic, with loads of curry houses but also some very interesting markets. Basically Camden Market without the tourists. First a walk, then a few pints in 'The Pride of Spitalfields', a pub of traditional character (hurrah!), and finally a curry of most excellent quality.

My happiness felt truly switched on today.
