Dragonfly Sp

It had been an amazing walk on this superbly hot day. I had seen a total of 50% of the birds ever rec0rded down on my local patch and had had an awsomely close encounter with a magnificent grass snake in the local wood.

But further on into the Reffley Wood, I came across this mystery dragonfly. I haven't been able to work out which species it was yet. It seems to be a very mature female darter, but it seems to have features that could be one of several different species.

I took a "snap" to try and resolve its ID and was rather pleased with the result!
