Look who came to dinner

The ship is still sitting 12 miles off the Northumbrian coast and all day we have had loads of wee birds stopping off on their migration I guess, tonight they were joined by this bad boy and a couple of Hawks/Falcons, not got a good enough view of them to be more precise on the ID.
But this I think is a Tawny Owl, no??? feel free to correct/educate me.

It is a bit... ok, a lot blurry, but the light was gone, just the mast head lights illumanating things, hand held Zoom at 300. I think it came out not to bad all things considered
