#OCCUPY Wall Street via York University
I was returning to the office from the Strategic Communications Council meeting at York University and found someone made a political statement of the William McElcheran installation by putting blindfolds on the two figures with the twitter hashtag of #occupy in sympathy with the Occupy Wall Street protests. York University is known for its radical elements, political statements, and civic activism - as well as its unique interdisciplinary approach to higher learning. A silk flower was stuck in the hand of one gent who also sported a snout-like appendage over its lips. No permanent harm done. Message made in support of our protesters on Bay Street - Toronto's and Canada's financial heart (yes, "financial heart" does seem oxymoronic).
I blipped this statue before in Encounter I in May where you can find a link regarding the sculptor and again for my 300th blip back in June.
