earlier this year i decided to get a professional printer, one that would enable me to print gallery quality giclee prints up to A3+ size for the immediate purpose of allowing me to submit entries into comps and salons and the future purpose of maybe helping me to output stuff for resale.

i plumped for a canon instead of the usually-favoured epsons, partly due to how shyte epsons really are with their ink usage and partly because i needed something i could keep in our bedroom out of the way which wouldn't wake up our little girl or the entire neighbourhood (including the cats and dogs) when i needed to print something post 7pm. i haven't really used it yet to its full potential, in fact nowhere near close (mainly due to the rediculous cost of nice photo rags and glossy stuff) but i'm still incredibly impressed with the quality of the 10-ink system, the black and whites being particularly kick-ass.
