Subaru and Mokusei

Or Pleiades and Jupiter in English.

Corin was certain that Subaru had something to do with the constellation of Pleiades - and he was right. Subaru is the Japanese word for Pleiades and subsequently, the car manaufacturer has used a constellation of stars on it's logo/badge. I pointed out that it looked nothing like the constellation and had the wrong number of stars - Corin's response was "bloody astronomers".

Have helped a friend to move house and so did not take advantage of a beautiful clear night to get the telescope out. Maybe a good thing because it is freezing. Not nearly, but definitely.

I need to buy thermals if this hobby is going to remain a positive experience and not one that results in extreme frostbite because I want to look at the stars.
