The Great Pumpkin Mystery - help needed!

Today we decided to start eating Bella's pumpkin and as we had a rather fine version of pumkin soup at Sooty's we decide to give it a go.

Pumpkin and lentil with rosemary was on the cards but imagine our surprise when we open the aforementioned Cucurbita we discovered that the flesh was beige white and pretty tasteless.

So if there any experts out there - let's know the solution.

The soup was ok - not great - but not up to yesterday's standard.
