One flower

Cyclamen coum

Although the weather here remains mild there are signs aplenty that we are moving from Autumn into Winter. The first flower on Cyclamen coum is very early this year. Last winter the pre-Christmas freeze stopped all flowers until January ... so this is the second flowering this year.

Cyclamen coum is much tougher than its small size would suggest. (This is a macro shot of a flower only 15mm across.) Much hardier than the florists cyclamen, Cyclamen persicum, it will have flowers from now until March. That's what I call Flower Power!
