From the lighthouse

We were in a glorious patch of warm sunshine when we walked out along the breakwater towards one of the lighthouses at Le Grau d'Agde. But back on land the buildings* along the sea front were lit against dark grey cloud. The beach was quite busy (for November) because it's a holiday here for Armistice Day - for me, as a pacifist, a day for remembering with great sadness that wars still continue and that it isn't only 'our' side that suffers.

* several of these buildings have appeared in my seaside architecture series.
