Penarth Pier.....

Penarth Pier is one of the last remaining Victorian piers in Wales. Building of the pier commenced in 1894 and it was finally opened in February 1895. The original structure was of cast iron with a timber deck and acted as a promenade and landing jetty for the then lucrative steam ship trade across the Bristol Channel. A wooden pavilion was added to the pier-head in 1907.

The Main Building is now dilapidated and is in the need of funding to renovate this great Victorian master piece.

I have now completed all the remaining Welsh Sea Side Piers, as I also did the Pier at Mumbles today, along with the Lighthouse.

Maddi is with us as we are now in Swansea in a hotel for the night and she is Flat out and worn out.

She has seen more Piers than any other three year old in the country, we have only got 7 Piers Left to do and by the end of the week we will have one left.
