The Last Squeeze

Out with the old and in with the new as far as the Marmite was concerned today.
Having squeezed the last dribble from the old jar, it was time for the inauguration of the new one.

I find the squeezy upside down jars more convenient than the traditional ones where you have to use a knife to spread the Marmite.
Instead with the new upside ones, an artistic flourish of the hand with an accompanying squeeze produces complex patterns which are pleasing to the eye.

Loving or hating Marmite, divides the world into two camps.
I love it for its taste, and being full of vitamin B12 it must be good for me, surely.
At any rate it seems to deter the midges. Perhaps they don't like blood tainted with vitamin B 12...or maybe they just don't like my face.

However there will be no vestige of Marmite at this afternoon' s tea party.
Everything is taking shape. The scones are defrosted and awaiting a warming;
the gingerbread, frozen for so long that I had forgotten about it, is out of its icy chamber and looking good; the mini mince pies are ready; the jam is in a bowl and the butter curls languish in a dish.

Bring the visit on, all is prepared.
In fact you are all invited if you are passing.
