Sunday 4 December 2011: Pandas Arrive

A composite picture today as the crowds greeted the giant pandas Tian Tian and Yang Guang arriving at Edinburgh Zoo. The two pandas arrived at the zoo in two specially branded FedEx lorries amid cheering crowds and the attention of the media. Representatives of the zoo and their Chinese partners as well as the Chinese, British and Scottish governments then spoke to a press conference in the oo. The pandas will now have a period of settling in to their new home, before making their first public appearance in a couple of weeks.
