Tuesday 6 December 2011: The power of water
Last Tuesday I saw the worst floods I have ever witnessed at Drymen and around that area. The disruption meant a lot of hardship, and it was a minor matter that my journey to Edinburgh took almost four hours instead of less than three, which is the norm. This spot was particularly bad with cars stuck in the middle of a fast flowing river which was racing across the road.
Passing by today I managed to get a quick picture of the damage done - a wall swept away and the carrigeway ripped up. But the hazard this morning leaving home was snow and ice.
In Scotland things change quickly !
