Thursday 15 December 2011: The Castle!
So, the Old Timers Christmas lunch went as well as ever. Numbers of other tables continue to dwindle - the days when they laid on two sittings have long gone. The culture of grabbing a sandwich at your desk seems to have won out. Not for us though. A £6.95 lunch with a £15 bottle of St Emillion. Perfect!
And afterwards while some went back to work, four of us legged in to the Filmhouse via the gardens (above) to see The Last Waltz. Good idea piglette! Then to Cloisters to sup ales and on to the Click Clack Club and the Beefheart tribute evening. Actually, that last bit was a bit dull. They had nae vocalist!
