In the Shade of a Mango Tree

Our first exploration around the Belem block, found a number of these houses with ornate tiled facades; I'm not sure if 'azulejos' is generic enough a term to cover the particular colours of these tiles which I think date from about 100 years ago, maybe a little less.

Belem is known as the 'city of mangoes' and in the right season, just passing, you can get hit on the head by them as you stroll along the street! I didn't see any actually falling but I did see a few people 'skiting' on them, as we in Europe would on banana skins.

Hard to look up and down at the same time!
